Hey Hivers,
Who all do not like to eat ice cream? Probably rather few and I am also no exception haha. This morning I was with my family and a friend eating ice cream in the (in my opinion) best ice cream parlor the city in Essen. The ice cream parlor is called "Casal" and is located in the district Frohnhausen. We went there by bike for about 1 hour. It was cold, but the sun was shining and so it went from the temperatures. But now to the ice cream parlor, about which and their delicious ice cream should finally go in this post.
As you can see, even in winter there is a long line in front of the ice cream parlor, it is very popular in the city. We have waited about 15 min before we could enter, inside you can not sit because of Corona, there is only ice cream on the hand or to take away.
The ice cream parlor is run by a second generation family originally from the Val di Zoldo region in the province of Belluno in the Dolomites of Italy. The more special ice creams also change sometimes during the season, but the standard ice creams remain of course.
There are different cups, but we all opted for 3 scoops with cream in a croissant. The ice cream shop has many different flavors to choose from, some more exotic like peppermint, pistachio, walnut, amarena cherry, salt caramel, white chocolate and cheesecake. Moreover, there is not only milk ice cream, but also vegan ice cream, which is definitely good for allergy sufferers. Also there are tiramisu ice cream with liqueur and yogurt varieties. I think it is also the many choices that attracts so many customers. In summer, the line outside the door can get even bigger.
Inside you can not sit at the moment, but still it is chic and modern made and you feel comfortable. Because there is so much traffic, four ice cream vendors are working here at full speed.
Here you can see the selection again, I thought that peppermint looked interesting, but in the end I chose walnut, black forest cherry and dark chocolate. Which varieties would you have taken?
With all the good-looking varieties, I briefly wondered if employees were allowed to take anything after each shift? That would certainly be a good incentive haha:)
I especially liked the walnut ice cream, also the dark chocolate was very tasty. The variety Black Forest Cherry was a little too creamy for me personally, but also not bad. With my mother I also tried briefly haha, she had my I caramel salt and pistachio. Caramel salt has also tasted good to me, especially because there were somewhat larger pieces in it - I love that in ice cream!
Admittedly, it was very cold on the way back and I felt like I was getting frostbite on my feet, but we got home faster this time and then we were able to warm up a bit.
I would be pleased to get your feedback and hope that you liked the post. The ice cream parlor I can only recommend, especially on hot summer days.
See you next time!
