Hey guys!
A few days ago I was with two friends in a vegan restaurant eat, I think it was a restaurant, but the food you had to fill yourself on the plate, you had a lot of choice between different dishes. My two friends already knew the restaurant, for me it was the first time to eat there, so I was curious how it would taste.
We filled our plates with something, for me it was potatoes with some pasta and chickpea salad, and in addition I took a Coke.
The name of the restaurant is "Sattgrün"- fittingly, only purely fresh and vegetable ingredients are used here. All dishes and drinks are vegan and therefore cholesterol- and lactose-free and free of genetically modified foods, at least that's what the restaurant writes on its menu, and I want to believe it. I myself do not eat vegan or vegetarian, but one of the two friends already and so the restaurant has fit well.
Not many people were sitting outside, which was probably due to the temperature, but the sun was shining a little and so we sat outside. A few hours we chatted about this and that and later we were also too cold, so we went inside.
I especially thought the interior was done great, it looked well coordinated and I felt comfortable.
Here you can see again a bit of the selection we had. At first I thought I would not get full of the amount but it was just right.
Here are just a few dishes from which you could choose: Hungarian paprika goulash with soy cutlets, zucchini,
green peppers & red onions, braised mushrooms with cherry tomatoes & dried tomatoes
in dark balsamic jus, or roasted soy medallions in peanut sauce with zucchini,
leek & yellow bell bell pepper. We took a medium plate, which cost 11.90 euros. There were also various soups, such as the Indian lentil soup and the sweet potato coconut soup. I think I will try those on my next visit there.
The first restaurant of "Sattgrün" opened in downtown Düsseldorf, back in 2007. The vision of founder Peter Zodrow at the time was to get people excited about vegan food via an uncomplicated, time-saving and friendly restaurant concept. A great idea, isn't it?
Later, on my way out, I took these photos of the entrance, which I had forgotten at the beginning.
I hope you enjoyed the little trip to this vegan restaurant. Personally, I find the idea behind it great, and maybe I will also live vegan one day.
What do you think about this topic?
Have a great day!
