Purple Sweet Potato Sticks
Again, sweet potatoes are the prima donna in my kitchen, I have always liked the texture and color of this sweet potato. In addition to its attractive color, sweet potatoes contain lots of vitamins that are good for the body. It can't be denied that this time I made sweet potatoes to fill jars ahead of the big celebration day in my religion, namely Eid al-Adha. I don't make a lot of pastries or other preparations for this holiday. Usually there are so many pastries at home, but this time I just want a simple and easy cake to make.
Purple sweet potato sticks are a crunchy snack made from purple sweet potatoes. The combination of sweet and savory flavors in this dish makes this one snack very delicious.Purple sweet potato sticks will become a favorite dish at home, the sweet and savory taste will make snacks liked and enjoyed by various groups. Actually I made this snack for my nieces, they really like sweet and savory food. Moreover, the unique shape like this stick, the elongated size like flat noodles will definitely surprise them.
Materials Used
- 500 grams of sweet potato
- 300 grams of wheat flour
- 100 grams of tapioca flour
- 100 grams of powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- enough water
Step Cooking
Cut the sweet potato, then boil the sweet potato with enough water until fully cooked.
Add salt, Puree the sweet potato, until completely smooth, you can use a blender or chopper.
Add eggs and also butter In accordance with the measurements that I have mentioned above. Add vanilla powder, then powdered sugar and mix the mixture.
Once mixed, add tapioca flour and stir again. Add the flour little by little while stirring the dough.
If the dough is still hard, add enough of the cold sweet potato cooking water. Then knead the dough until smooth and easily not sticky to the hands.
Cut the dough into several parts for easy rolling
Roll out the dough thinly using a manual milling machine.
After the dough is thin, sprinkle with cornstarch so the dough doesn't stick. Then roll the dough again with the machine in an elongated shape.
After the dough is finished in the shape it's time to fry. Fry the cake over low heat, don't forget when frying, pay attention so that it keeps its shape elongated.
Results
Crispy sweet potato sticks are ready to be enjoyed. I keep this cake in an airtight jar for the filling for tomorrow's Eid celebration. Well, Eid celebrations in my area are always synonymous with various heavy dishes. However, apart from heavy dishes, light snacks such as sweet potato sticks will also be enjoyed by guests at home. Especially my little nephew, they will definitely be very happy with this dish.
