Pineapple Jam Cookies (Nastar)
Nastar, is one of the favorite snacks that is very popular in my country. This one snack is a must-have snack when the holidays arrive. So, this snack itself is sold at a pretty fantastic price per kg of cake, reaching IDR. 130,000 or even more, depending on how premium the snacks you want to buy are. The selling power is expensive, and it is made from several materials that are relatively expensive in the market, making this cake expensive. Well, many people know that this cake is also not difficult to make, but what makes people reluctant to make it is because the process is quite long. The making process takes approximately 6 hours, making the jam, even in molding the dough.
This is not the first time I have made nastar, every year it is my routine to prepare some Eid cakes including nastar. Although sometimes I'm lazy to make it because of work piling up. But this time I have a lot of free time to fill it by making this favorite snack.
Nastar itself is a snack made from a mixture of several ingredients, such as flour, butter and eggs like normal cookies, with pineapple jam filling inside. Therefore, this food is very popular as nastar. Now this snack always has to start by preparing the jam first. I usually prepare the jam the night before I start making the cookies. Here I will show you how to make easy pineapple jam.
How to make Nastar Jam
300 grams of sugar
2 Cinnamon
1 sdt salt
2 pandan leaves
My first step was to peel the pineapple skin and cut it into several pieces.
Blend half of the pineapple until smooth, then grate the other half so that the jam is fibrous.
Cook the pineapple that has been juiced, then add the cinnamon, then add the 3 pandan leaves that have been concluded.
Cook until the water is reduced, after the jam starts to shrink a little, add sugar and a teaspoon of salt.
Cook until the jam really doesn't contain water so it's easy to shape later.
After preparing delicious jam, and having the texture that I expected, I started to prepare some ingredients to continue making nastar cookies. Well making nastar always makes me excited, how should I prepare the ingredients, and shop at the market. It gets me excited and I really love doing it, I love shopping as well as in the kitchen so making it will be easier.
