Again and again, coconut is part of my recipe for foodies, you know it's easy and cheap to get coconut in the Asian region in particular, it has a separate role in the processing of traditional cakes in Indonesia, my area mainly has thousands of hectares of coconut plantations, not only in gardens, This coconut tree, almost every house has it.
Have you ever tried coconut cooked with caramel then combined with wheat flour. This menu, which is made from coconut and wheat flour, is a healthy dessert, prepared easily and practically, and is a traditional snack in my area that is always available at certain events or very much we find in the market.
This dessert is used as the cheapest snack, this menu is one of my and my family's favorite snacks, especially my sister, she really likes this cake. When he was a child, he named this cake, namely compact car tires, until now my sister very often buys it, therefore I will process this snacks into dessert for family dinners.
Ingredients Used
- 300 grams of wheat flour
- 500 grams of grated coconut
- 2 pandan leaves
- 350 grams of sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 200 ml Water
- Food coloring
- 1 chicken egg
Cooking Instructions
1. Making The Caramelized Coconut Filling
- Heat a frying pan then add 50 grams of sugar, wait until it turns brownish with a caramel texture on medium heat.
- Next add grated coconut and 300 grams of sugar, 1 teaspoon salt then add 50 ml of water, and pandan leaves.
- Stir and cook until the caramelized coconut is cooked and the water has reduced.
2. Making The Outer Skin Dough
- Prepare 300 grams of flour, then add 1 teaspoon of salt, then add 150 ml of water, stir the dough until there are no lumps of flour.
- Enter the green dye or according to your taste and then add the eggs and stir until the mixture is well blended and thickens.
3. Finishing
- Heat a teflon and spread a little oil or margarine.Then put a small spoon of dough into the Teflon. Cook until the dough is evenly cooked.
- The last step is to lift the cooked outer skin mixture and add 1 tablespoon of caramelized coconut.
Wrap or roll the dough as neatly as possible to form as shown below.
Result
The taste of this cake is sweet and chewy, plus the aroma of fragrant caramelized coconut adds to the delicacy of this food.
