As this my first post in the Foodies Bee Hive Community it seemed more than fitting to present you with one my favorite, if not THE favorite, dishes of all time. ❤️
In my country, Suriname, this is a dish that came here through influence of Indonesian immigrants. It's derived from it's Indonesian counterpart "Soto Ayam", which I think loosely translates to "chicken soup". However this is far more exiting than an ordinary chicken soup. 🍗
Seeing as this is my ultimate comfort food, it's not surprising at all that I have at least 20 different pictures just lying around in my phone. 📲
Here's one made by my mom a while ago.
The broth is made with chicken stock (with chicken and cubes), ginger, onions, green onions, parsley, garlic, galangal, bay leave and allspice. It is then served with fried potato sticks, fried onions and garlic, green onions, eggs, beansprouts (which I hate with all my heart), shredded chicken, chili peppers and rice.
This one was at a bbq at a friend's house, emphasizing the fact that I usually like to have it with two eggs. It's a very common dish to have at parties here. 🔥🔥🔥
And finally one beside a creek, when it was still safe to go outdoors every other week (Good Times)
