Family time at a restaurant is simply an opportunity to spend enough quality time with family members. We live in the same city but reach a little time getting together. Everyone is busy!!
That's why this lunch at the park restaurant felt communal rather than an individual experience and it means a lot to us.
We were been to Zinda Park- one of the greenest parks in Bangladesh. It was kind of a day tour with eight of my family members. The place doesn't allow taking food from outside because of the risk of pollution. I really appreciate that because the place is so neat and clean, it wouldn't be the same if people throw their leftover food and things here and there.
Anyway...
The park has its own restaurant and that is also beautiful. The food is mostly local cuisine. And they are reasonable in price.
We ordered a few platters that consist of our local popular curries. We had chicken and beef curries, a bowl of duck curry, vegetable curry, lentils, salad, spicy potato mash, and some soft drinks.
The chicken and beef curry.
Rice with chicken curry and spicy potato mash.
Our table looks a little messy, I know. We eat with our hands, don't freak out ;)
I wouldn't say the food was 10/10. The rice was a bit cold and not so fine grain. The curries were average in taste, nothing special. But the environment of the restaurant was good enough to enjoy the meal.
On top of everything, it's the get-together, the little chit-chat that's what matters most.
Let me share the ambiance of the place, you will see why the simple meal felt so special!
This is what the park looks like. The restaurant too was surrounded by hundreds of trees. It was raining a little when we started our lunch and that made the place much more beautiful.
I may not visit the place for the food but definitely for the ambiance.
Have a good day, everyone.
