Every Saturday, me and my friends at work try to hunt some new place with different taste and unique dishes. Saturdays are half day at work for us so we leave our office by 2 pm. Most of such places open after 6 pm in the evening so it is hard to find or hunt such restaurants or stalls at afternoon. Still, there are many places in Karachi which are opened and have something different and unique taste to offer.
Today, I am going to share the unexpected taste and quality we encountered couple of months ago from a simple stall of Samosa and Kachori. One of my friend heard about it so we decided to go there. it is not a luxurious place and do not have any seating facility but the taste ask you to eat it all while standing in the corner of the cart. He told us that Samosa Chaat is very famous and popular at this place. So let’s experience it by ourselves.
Samosa is very well known all over the world but for those who are unaware of it, I have shared some pictures to give you an idea. It is a deep fried pastry filled with potatoes and other vegetables. There are different kinds of Samosas, the one we are talking about is Aalu ka Samosa means Potato Samosa. However, different kinds of Samosas have different fillings but the most common one is Aalu ka Samosa.
Now, the Samosa Chaat is very smartly designed to give our taste buds a unique taste and different experience. Samosa is broken into pieces and then topped with different sauces and chutneys, chopped onions, tomatoes, various spices like chaat masala and cumin powder, sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles) for added texture. It looks great as our eyes eat it first and then we eat it physically.
The taste was outstanding and extremely tasty. I was not expecting it but it turned out to be a very good place with reasonable price. Then I heard other people talking about it. All were appreciating the taste. We also came to know that he is working since a long time back and has maintained the taste and quality which attracts more and more people. I suggested him to invest on it, hire a good place, make some seating place so families can also come and enjoy the taste but he said he is happy with what he is earning and don’t want to have any more burden. I think he is doing it in his comfort zone but he surely needs to improvise and improve the standards in order to get more fame and customers. We had a good time there and enjoyed the Samosa Chaat.
