Hello everyone! What's up for today? My son-in-law came home from Canlaon and brought some fresh vegetables.
With these veggies, I planned to prepare Chop Suey.
Preparation:
1 kilo chicken, sliced
Garlic
Onion
Carrots
Bell peppers
Chayote
Cabbage
First, wash the chicken meat thoroughly.
Prepare the veggies accordingly. Make the cuts of each kind in consistent sizes so that it will cook evenly.
I prepared chopsuey good for 4-6 persons only so it's easier to combine all, re: bell peppers, chayotes, cabbages and carrots in one bowl, wash and drain.
Sauté onion, garlic and chicken cuts, stirring occasionally then add 4 cups of water and cover. Let it simmer to let its natural flavour ooze naturally then add chicken cubes, basil powder, black pepper, salt and seasonings to taste.
Add all the veggies, stirr for only 10-15 Minutes or half cooked only to have that crispy effect of veggies. You may add 1 tablespoon of corn starch if desired to make the soup thicker too. Don't forget to add the black pepper.
Serve hot.
A special reminder:
For more enhancement especially on special occasions, you may add cauliflower and broccoli plus string beans but you need to blanch each kind before adding it all to the meat with soup added.
For addition if desired:
• Young Corn
• Mushrooms
• Squid (fried,sliced)
• Shrimps,shelled
• Quail's eggs,boiled/shelled
• Pork/beef thinly sliced
• Crab n corn powder
I hope you like it guys! As usual, thanks for dropping by my page and of course to and
for supporting me in this noble endeavour. God bless!
