Brief Introduction
Hi Everybody,
I'm . I usually post about Splinterlands content but today I wanted to try doing a restaurant review. I'm a foodie and I love food from all kinds of culture. I am willing to try most food as long as it looks appetizing but I wouldn't be the type to try exotic stuff like snakes, frog etc. Just some brief details about me: I am from Malaysia and I'm 26 years old. This is my first post in the Foodies Bee Hive community and I hope to do more in the future if I get a good response. The restaurant I went to is called The Seventeen Steamboat and BBQ, it's a place that specializes in steamboat and bbq buffet; this restaurant is in Malaysia. I decided to go here because my friend, Justin, invited me to come eat here with him. I never went to this restaurant before so I wanted to give it a try since the reviews on Google Review were pretty good.
We chose the Meng Po Soup and the Pork Bone Soup for the steamboat. We also basically ordered everything to try since it was a buffet and I was too busy eating so didn't get to take photos of everything since there's like a 2 hour time limit for the buffet with the last call to order being 1 hour and 30 minutes in. They had all types of meet to barbeque going from chicken, pork and beef. They also had fish, scallop and abalone for the seafood with a lot of other things you can dip into the soup like meat balls, sausage dumplings tofu skin etc. Also for dessert, there was ice cream and cheese cake if I'm not mistaken!
Apologies in advance if the photos weren't taken that well, I will try to improve on this on the future.
Google Review Vs My Review
As you can see from the google reviews photo, The Seventeen Steamboat and BBQ has been given a 4.4 stars average out of 481 reviews! I thought this was pretty good I like to try places with at least above 4 stars with 100-200+ reviews. For my own personal review, I would like to give them 4.5 stars. The food was really delicious, it was great even though they gave them all in small portions but since you it's a buffet, you can just keep ordering more. The service was super good. Once seated, they explained the menu and this was their SOP so I thought this was really good. They were also super responsive when we raised our hand to call on them. I thought the ambience was a good and the place was quite clean. I didn't give them 5 stars because it was a bit pricy for the buffet. It came out at RM300 for 3 people which is around $68 USD which averages RM100 per person. This price is considered expensive in Malaysia since for moderate high end buffets would be near RM40-50 per person. This is a place you should come once in a while or for a special occasion. That concludes my review.
Thank You
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and supporting me. I will post more review of places I try if I have free time.
