Problems come and go; it's a part of the life process. We have to be able to face it and get through it. But sometimes we feel almost out of energy. Our mood and mind are down, and the body becomes unmotivated.
At that time, we need something to fight those feelings. There are many ways we can do to make ourselves comfortable. We can sleep, meditate, snuggle with our spouse or partner, take a walk to the park to get some fresh air, etc.
Apart from that, there is one other thing that we often crave when we are feeling down: comfort food.
Comfort food is food that can provide psychological and emotional comfort. That comfort can come from childhood memories, sentimental values, or simply because of the taste, the smell, and the look of the food.
Whatever the trigger, the point is that food can raise a feeling of well-being. Because usually, after we eat, those negative feelings and emotions turn into positive ones.
Comfort food for everyone is different. There may be a craving for chocolate, ice cream, pasta, soup, salad, sushi, or anything.
For myself, I have many choices of comfort foods. Sometimes I crave warm foods like noodles/ramen, dim sum or hotdog. Sometimes I want a bar of chocolate, and sometimes I just want to enjoy salad or banana.
