Filipino Style Creamy Carbonara
Carbonara is exactly what we need after a long and exhausting day at work. As pasta connoisseurs, we always include in our grocery cart the ingredients for carbonara so that we can make it at home if we get a craving for it rather than having to go out and buy it. This is the procedure by which we prepared our Creamy Carbonara. It is not the original recipe, as it is in Italy, because we used cream instead of eggs in the preparation. So if you have a craving for Creamy Carbonara, that's your cue to whip up a batch! :)
Carbonara is not as well-known in the Philippines as red spaghetti. Some people, especially children, prefer red spaghetti because of its vibrant color. However, we prefer carbonara because it has a distinct flavor and we enjoy its creamy texture. You can also add tuna, bacon, mushrooms, and other ingredients to your carbonara to make it more flavorful. You can also use this recipe if you intend to sell it. What makes the Filipino style creamy carbonara even more delicious is the cream-filled sauce.
Ingredients
Carbonara Sauce
240ML Nestle Cream
Eden Cheese or any cheese available
1 Medium Size Garlic ; minced
200g Virginia Honey-cured Bacon ; chopped
Sliced Mushroom (optional)
Butter
Salt and Taste
Pasta
Pour water into a cooking pot and add oil and salt to prevent the pasta from becoming entangled with one another. Then boil.
Put the pasta in the pot and bring to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package.
Remove the pasta from the pot and drain the water.
Set aside.
Bacon
Cook the bacon according to your preference. We prefer crunchy bacon. Then, drain the oil and chopped the cooked bacon.
Sauce
In a pan, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Saute.
Add sliced mushroom. Mix.
Add the Carbonara Sauce and Nestle Cream.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Mix well. Let it simmer.
Add the chopped bacon and cheese. Mix it.
Put the cooked pasta and mix it with the sauce. Mix well.
Put it in a container and garnish it with chopped bacon and cheese. Best serve when it is freshly cooked and hot.
It's finally time to eat and enjoy the creamy carbonara. Everyone in our family agreed that it was delicious. Yaaaay! You can make this for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack! You can enhance the flavor by serving it with garlic bread. Homemade meals are the best because they are prepared with love.
