HELLO COMUNITY!
The origin of Linzer Cookies is Austria, the city of Linz in the early 1700s being one of the oldest cookies named after a place. The cookies have the same ingredients as Linzertorte, only presented in a different way. Linzer Cookies are a holiday treat in the Austrian, Swiss and German tradition, often eaten at Christmas๐ช.
Because I couldn't wait for Christmas to eat some cookies i made them last week.
INGREDIENTS
- 175g butter๐ง
- 100g sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 265g flour
- 1/8tsp salt
- 1/2tsp cinnamon
- Mix the butter and sugar then add the remaining ingredients
That's how it should look like
- Shape the dough into 2 disks so it will cool quicker, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate them for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.Make half of them with holes and the other half without holes.
I chose heart and mushroom โค๐
Bake them at 180ยฐC for 10 minutes.
On the cookies without holes spread jam.
- Dust the top halves of the cookies with powdered sugar, then carefully place them on the top of the jam-covered bottoms.
Enjoy!
