I recently visited a delightful breakfast spot in Old Town, Chiang Mai City, Mellowry cafe. The ambiance is cheerful and cozy. I found this gem thanks to a friend's recommendation. He actually works there in the old town so he shows his way around.
The decor, both outdoors and indoors, is simple yet vibrant. The place is quite compact, with only a handful of tables - maybe three or so. When we arrived, we even had to borrow a seat from the next table.
The menu might be on the smaller side, but it offers just the right amount of choices. Sometimes more choices just mean more time to choose and more difficult even. We wanted to try a few types so we went for a smoothie bowl and a continental breakfast. The dishes were fresh, clean, and delicious. Their coffee didn't disappoint either, complementing the great ambiance.
Oh.. did I tell you I love the table sheets. Lovely and colorful.
Overall, the place boasts a calm, aesthetically pleasing design and offers fresh, delectable food. They also have a selection of desserts, which we regrettably didn't sample this time. If I find myself in Old Town craving breakfast, I'll definitely consider a return visit to try more dishes.
