Phrae
It's been a while since I visited Phrae. My Grandma is from here so my mom was born and raised here. I used to visit them every summer but after my grandma passed away, we just stop coming here. My last time in Phrae was during my grandma's funeral so yeah, it's been a while. When we had a chance to visit the province again, I just felt the nostalgia.
Walking down a busy street (not as busy as it's supposed to be I would say) and headed to a famous restaurant but hey! It's closed! So we asked around and the guy from Khao Kriab Pak Moh shop recommend this newly opened restaurant...
Kuakul Kitchen
The place looks nice! Outdoor but quite shady. Nice music and not too loud. The service was almost too impressive as they're just opened up, and when we got there, we pretty much the only customers there so we got overloaded attention!
What we ordered were all on the recommended menu, Spicy stir-fry chicken with Northern Thai herbs, Deep fried pork belly with chillis and garlic, Northern Thai style Spicy ground pork salad (Laab) and hey, a few bottles of Chang beer along with all these spicy Northern Thai food!
Here's what we have to say, 'We truly loved all the dishes we ordered' and because they got that standard, I'm so sure all other dishes would be just that delicious! When I say it's delicious, I mean it. Though for this place, I'm confident to say that it's beyond that. It's not just delicious but it's really umami! Plus the fact that it's not something we eat in everyday life in Central Thailand make the meal even more special.
