This morning we felt like a weekend treat and I decided to bake this easy and quick scone recipe. I find the recipe almost fool proof and most of the effort goes into washing the dishes afterwards!
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
Half a cup white sugar
5 teaspoons baking powder
A pinch of salt
100ml Oil
3 Large eggs
1 Cup of milk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Take a muffin pan and smear with butter to prevent the scones from sticking to the sides.
Add all of the dried ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Add the oil, 2 eggs and milk.
Thoroughly mix all of the ingredients until it makes a sticky dough.
Evenly scoop the mixture in the muffin pan.
Place the scones into the oven and bake for 15 minutes. After a few minutes, baste with the remaining egg, to create a shiny, brown finish.
There was a delicious aroma throughout the whole house when the timer went off!
The scones came out steamy and fluffy and looked absolutely mouth-watering.
Our favorite toppings include salted butter, strawberry jam, cheddar cheese and luscious cream.
