Of course, you do, who doesn’t 🤗 As you know, this versatile dish works with all pasta types and toppings, too —vegetarian, seafood, etc… The collage above is an example of the many pasta dishes I have prepared 👨🏻🍳
Let’s keep it simple, today, and go for a Bolognese meat sauce over fettuccini (the closest to homemade, it cooks in 3 minutes).
As always, we begin by assembling our ingredients:
In this case, I diced onions 🧅 carrots 🥕 pepper 🫑 and celery. My wife and I love garlic, so that’s there, as well.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan and sauté your mix of veggies over medium heat, until the onions are translucent (see through) around 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Now, add The Meat
The missus is quite fussy, so we get lean minced meat, with little fat, and I use about half a pound for this dish (that feeds 3-4 people). The other half of a pound of minced meat, I’ll make meatballs with —either in the oven or the air fryer, now, that I’m a proud owner of one :)
Now, back to our meat sauce… Mix in the minced meat with your sautéed vegetables, add salt and spice to taste. Then stir, occasionally, until the meat turns brown (around 10 minutes).
It should look something like the picture, above.
Lastly, we add our tomatoes sauce : out of a jar, can, or fresh tomatoes 🍅 picked from your garden and simmered down — you decide on your level of commitment 😉
Serve hearty sauce over pasta of your choice & presto, you’re ready to eat half an hour after your started preparing your meal 🪄
I’m trying to cut back on the cheese(since my cholesterol levels are slightly elevated) but you don’t have to, if you’re in better shape than I am.
Go on, grate a little Parmesan on top & live a little!
