This is not the first time we make pizza, at home, and it won’t be our last.
It’s become something of a ritual — we enjoy it almost, weekly, and it’s a treat to share with friends or guests (who enjoy watching us prepare it).
First step is to let the store-bought dough get to room temperature, while I prep the toppings.
Now, my wife takes over and —after adding flour to the dough— slathers on tomato sauce & adds toppings (always, onions and garlic, the rest varies.
As you can see, this latest features broccoli 🥦 and peppers 🫑. It’s what we had in the fridge and I mixed them with virgin olive oil and Greek spices 😋
Next, sprinkle grated cheese on top — typically, Italian, but we’ve used Mexican, in the past.
Now, it’s time to pop your pie into the oven, which has been preheating at 410 degrees. I give it around 20 minutes — checking up on it to see that cheese is melting & crust is browning.
In this instance, I was craving protein, so I served our vegetarian pizza with a boiled egg 🥚
