When you ask the kids, "What is your favourite animal?" Then you will hear things like: wolf, dolphin, eagle, lion or somesuch.
But I always answer that one right away: "What is your favourite animal?"
With: "CHICKEN!"
This is always amusing for the kids and they always ask me why. Because they are delicious of course!
Of course, we need to have skills to turn the below image into the above image!
And to do that you will need the following:
- sugar
- sriracha sauce
- mixed herb
- Lappies Traditional marinade
- Lappies Sticky Rib marinade
- Syrup (this is not true Canadian Maple, just Maple flavoured)
Stick the sugar, mixed herb and sriracha together in a pot and heat to melt the sugar. Mix together to make a paste.
Then add the Lappies sauces.
Here is the paste.
And this is what it looks like with the marinades in.
If it is too funny, the secret weapon is packet soup. On heat and stir constantly to thicken your sauce.
Pour this over the chicken. (Might be a good point to mention that I stabbed the chicken full of holes first.)
Then the chicken is put into the over at a low heat to cook the chicken and the sauce through.
Finally, to get that crispy skin, the final 15-25mins is done on high heat and check every 5mins after the first 10mins then you cannot fail!
Enjoy... my favourite animal!
