After completing my parkrun alphabet challenge last week it was straight onto my parkrun volunteer alphabet challenge. We had the added bonus of our run club meeting at Varsity Lakes parkrun on the Gold coast as we collected our V for the vollie alphabet.
There was no running for me today, just helping out at the finish line, handing out finish tokens. I'm happy to miss a run and help out to keep these free, local, weekly 5km events happening. They operate all over our country and in lots of places around the world.
I would highly recommend checking one out if there are any near you. You don't have to run, it's all about just getting out there and doing whatever you can. Lots of people just walk.
It was an absolutely glorious day other than the smoke haze from some burn off in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
