Introduction
Hi! here playing Splinterlands everyday!
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
For the latest series of my review, I finally have the opportunity to take a deep dive on the core Chaos Legion set after finally being done with the rewards and subset so I started with the core commons. So far, I am done with the Fire, Water, Life and Earth Elements and for this weeks review, I will go with the Death Element.

For this 13 mana battle, I used Carrion Shade with the remaining 1 mana and placed it at the 3rd position as its abilities were sealed but either way it would just serve as a damage sponge against my opponent but since it was still a melee monster, once it has the opportunity to attack, being on the first position, it was able to defeat Fungus Fiend with 2 damage.
Battle 2: Riftwing and Silent Sha-vi

On this battle, I used Riftwing as secondary tank since the ruleset has Countermagic that makes it more probably that the opponent might use range monsters and the Headwinds will help to reduce their damage and it happens that 3 of my opponent monsters are range as well as for every monsters that was defeated, this will gained health so it would take longer for the opponent to defeat this card. At the end of the 1st round, Riftwing has gained 2 health in proportion to the 2 monsters that were defeated during the round.
On the other hand, while while the opponent was busy attacking my front, I have a double Sneak combo using Silent Sha-vi that are attacking the backline of my opponent which are very vulnerable and each attack from it also reduces the max health the targets have with Cripple.
Battle 3: Crypt Beetle and Shadow Snitch

Taking Sides | Neutral monsters may not be used in battle. |
Weak Magic | |
Little League | Only monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battle. |
For this next battle, I placed Shadow Snitch at the 2nd position so that it can still attack with the use of Reach where it was able to attack and defeat Fungus Flinger at the first round.
while Crypt Beetle remains as my tank for only cost 3 mana which favorably works with Weak Magic as not only it got reduced damage against melee and range attacks, magic attacks would also needs to first reduce the armor of Crypt Beetle. It was also able to attack and defeat Queen Mycelia during the first round.
Final Thoughts
I'm now on the fifth week of my review for the core common cards of Chaos Legion and has tackled the Death element. The cards on this set were also mostly melee monsters with the exception of Riftwing which is a non- damage monster but defending on where it was used, it can be a really effective monster against melee and range monsters. That said, the monster that I will more likely to use most of the time was Silent Sha-vi as it was a really good Sneak monster.
And that was it for this review. See you on my next post!
