Introduction
Hi! here playing Splinterlands everyday!
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
The topic of my review for some time now was about the core cards of the Chaos Legion which is the third major card expansion of the game with over 100 cards and so far, I have come to finish with the core cards under the common, rare and epic rarity and have began with the legendary rarity, containing 29 cards including the airdrop cards. With my last post, covers the legendary units of the Fire Element so for this week, I will proceed with the Water Element.

Legendary Water Cards In Action
Battle 1: River Hellondale
| Conditions | Description |

Diamond League Modern Format | 47 Mana Cap Available Elements: Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f84812d82d679cd31ae2215c30553f16&ref=agonyaccepted |
Weak Magic | |
Target Practice | All |
This battle has 47 mana cap with the Weak Magic which makes magic attacks to reduce armor first before it can damage health and Target Practice that gives Snipe ability to all range and magic monsters.
The legendary card that I used in this battle was River Hellondale it could Dispel whatever buffs the target monster would have and at the same time, I have brought mostly melee monsters in my lineup which would benefit to the melee boost that Inspire gives and provide more damage on my opponent. Since my Wave Brood was defeated on the battle, River Hellondale used its Resurrect in order to revive it to once again provide a little back up with it's Taunt.
Battle 2: Torrent Fiend
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 14 Mana Cap Available Elements: Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_4dcd4d4299b5520516e5760b00adc8b0&ref=agonyaccepted |
Aim True | |
What Doesn't Kill You | All Monsters have the |
Silenced Summoners |
On this battle, no summoner abilities nor stat boost will be effective due to the effects of Silenced Summoner but monsters gain the Enrage ability due to What Doesn't Kill You and cannot miss their targets with Aim True.
With such a low mana battle, there were very few monsters we can add to the team so priority comes on cards with low man cost and with Torrent Fiend, even though we have no mana left, we can still place this card as this cost 0- mana and at the same time, it has the Headwinds ability which reduces the damage of all the range monsters of the opponent causing Weirding Warrior to only have inflict 1 damage and also during this match since my main attackers got defeated, with Torrent Fiend left in the first position, it was able to attack as it has melee damage and eventually defeat the opponent's monster which ended the match.
Battle 3: Baakjira, Torrent Fiend and Possibilus the Wise
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 36 Mana Cap Available Elements: Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_1ea5a39528e882b6e9680f79ff09771e&ref=agonyaccepted |
Close Range | |
Explosive Weaponry | All Monsters have the |
Fog of War | Monsters lose the |
For the last battle, we have Close Range that allows for range monster to be able to attack at the first position with the inclusion of Explosive Weaponry that deals damage on monsters adjacent to the target on a Fog of War rule set.
In this battle, I used Possibilus the Wise as my summoner which gives +2 health bonus to all my monsters while giving the Reach and Trample ability that gives Coastal Sentry the ability to attack even at the second position and chance to attack again when it defeats its target while Baakjira serves to be my main tank that can Heal itself with its huge health and reduce the speed of all opponent monsters with Slow. Once again Torrent Fiend, while it cost 0 mana has provided its support with its Headwinds that reduces the damage of the range monster of the opponent which allows my monster to last longer.
Final Thoughts
For the water set of legendary monsters in Chaos Legion, the cards that I most often used will be Baakjira due to it being an excellent excellent tank despite not having any attack with is' Void and Slow that makes it a strong card even at level 1 while it was always a great help to have Torrent Fiend wherever we exhausted our mana but still have slots with no monsters as it cost 0 mana. On the other hand, Possibilus the Wise and River Hellondale are mostly used on niche situations. For the summoner at least, I still would prefer to use Kelya Frendul for the speed and armor it offers but it won't provide the same result that Posibilus the Wise can offer for rule sets such as Stampede.
That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
