Introduction
Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
I'm here for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Rise of the Commons. It is a ruleset were only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
The Battle that I will show to you this week was from bltzr-wizard-726 which is the scholar account I'm using from Balthazar Guild with max level gold foil CL deck and was playing at the modern format of the Diamond League. Before I show you the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.
Rise of the Commons
Silenced Summoners |
With the current card sets that are available, the mana cost of summoners were from 2-7 mana so when it comes to Silenced Summoners, the most appropriate summoner to use are those that would eat less mana specially with low mana battles.
Summoners by Mana Cost
These were the samples of summoners by mana cost and by these samples, the best option for summoner would be Talia Firestorm since it only have 2 mana cost and does not have abilities to begin with.

Opponent's Line- up
My Team
For this battle, we have the featured rule set Silenced Summoner that negates the abilities of the summoners along with Little league that only allows the use of monsters with 4 or less mana. At the same time, they gain the Knockout ability through Heavy Hitter. Given this conditions, my lineup was consist of.
Summoner: Quix the Devious - Even without ability this summoner can still use Dragon units along with other element which means I can have a broader selection of units I can use.
1st Position: Blinding Reflector - Decent tank for only 3 mana, having both the HP and armor but it also provides Magic Reflect to return magic damage towards the attacker and Blind to give 15% dodge chance on a attacking opponent.
2nd Position: Clockwork Aide - While this card has no attack, it got Swiftness that increase the speed of all ally units and Rust that removes the armor of the opponent monster.
3rd Position: Dhampir Infiltrator - uses Sneak to attack the backline monsters, not once but twice with Double Strike while preventing the target to be healed with Affliction and reducing their HP with Cripple.
4th Position: Uraeus - also has Sneak to attack backline opponents and it can also Poison* the opponent.
5th Position: Stitch Leech - third unit to also have Sneak but this time, it got the Life Leech which increase its health every time it damage the target's HP.
6th Position: Celestial Harpy - Has the Flying adding 25% miss chance from opponent attacks but its attacks will never miss since it has True Strike and can attack the opponent with the lowest health with Opportunity.

Battle Recap
Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.
Did your Strategy Work?
Even when the summoners does not have the ability and stat boost they have under the Silenced Summoner ruleset, Dragon summoners still gain the advantage in terms in utility because it was still able to use dragon units even when its abilities were locked, increasing the variety of monsters and strategy that can be used in battle, which is proven in my battle above where I was able to use neutral, dragon and life units in one team.
That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
