I figured that the price wouldn't get any higher than how much I bought it for... but I was wrong! This was today price... $771!
Before I bought the coin, I shopped around... for several days! I kept reminding myself that this is just a coin, I can make do without it!
I took photos of them to remind myself of the different current prices. The photos below are from Ebay.
There was none in the secondary market. They were all from Europe! And you know that US customers are expected to pay customs fees. And I won't buy from a new seller either.
Well, here it is: I paid $756 for the coin (and $60.48 in taxes).
Am I sorry that I gave away my original coin? Nah, I bought that gold coin for cheap!!!
What I should have done was replace it immediately! But life is so busy. And I was buying coins here and there... I guess I lost track of time!
The coins that I am collecting will become part of the permastack... or will be sold last. And I waited for 5 years before I could start the Lunar collection in 2020. In hindsight, I should not have parted with the coin unless I had an extra one. Lesson learned! But I am not sorry that I gave it away.
Here is my collection of gold Lunar III from the Perth Mint.
Is it worth it?
