Did you name the Lion on Threads? What a fun week seeing #hivegarden green up the Leo Threads feed! Thanks to all of you who joined in!
We really hope I didn't miss anyone, but here's the names we saw come up:
Sunny (), GardenKing (
), Sunny (
), Bert (
), Hortus
, Lippy (
), Lionel (
), Cubcake (
) Dande (
), Feline (
), The Lion King (
).
We loved ALL the names - what fun! However, there was a clear winner from the start - Dande, as in Dande-lion! See what did there? We love dandelions as most people think they're weeds to get rid of, but you can EAT them! They are used medicinally, and there roots loosen soil and aerate it, and their deep taproot pulls calcium from the soil to feed other plants - like your lawn! Please don't reach for the weedkiller next time you see a dandelion, and think of the Hive Garden lion, Dande!
With only less than a week til the next Garden Journal challenge, we thought we'd have another Thread challenge.
All you need to do is join in and post (and comment) garden related things in the next five days - not just once, but a few times. We'll be looking for the most active threaders who are passionate about gardens, plants, and of course our community.
Some ideas to thread about:
- The plant you love most in the garden
- A botanical garden you visited
- Your favourite indoor plant
- A flower you saw on the way to work
- A top gardening tip
- A question
- The seeds you're planting soon
- A link to someone else's garden post and what you liked about it
The top five threaders will win one HIVE each - so have fun! We will announce the winners when announces the Hive Garden Journal challenge on the 1st of March.
Congratulations to - and to everyone else, keep on gardening - and threading!
