Happy New Year everyone.
This is our family, we have 2 jolly daughters.
We been through a lot last year and here we are welcoming the new year; stronger, determined and happier. New year reminds us that we can always have a new beginning in life.
As a Filipino family, we have this tradition that we must stay in our own house as we welcome the new year and each family must stay together as long as they can. They say that we need to avoid negative acts or mood or else we will be acting like that for the whole year. We also need to try to keep the house organized and clean to welcome the blessings that are coming. Putting coins in our pockets and shaking them at 12 to keep our pockets full the whole year. And the most crazy thing is to let the children keep jumping to make them taller, but it don't work for me. I think the genes are much stronger than my faith while jumping. 😁
These are the foods that we ate together during media noche, we usually prepare more foods during new year than Christmas 'cause we believe that it will bring us prosperity.
Insert a pot of rice here , Asian meal isn't complete without it.

Some of our round fruits, 12 fruits for prosperity and good health for the entire year.
Prosperity Bowl; 8 coins underneath the rice, 12 eggs, 7 gold coins(i used chocolate coins), 5 bills. It's my first time making it and I hope I did it right.
Though we have this kind of "pampaswerte" or we did those traditions for prosperity and good health, we also need to do our part. We still need to work hard to achieve our goals, eat healthy food and exercise for strong body, and of course prayer for peace of mind and guidance.
Not everyone is blessed to prepare a feast for new year specially those in visayas region which was hit hard by typoon Odette, they lost their home and even some of their loved ones. I hope that this new year gives them hope and help them heal.
I am grateful for everything that the Lord gave and took from me, it's for the better.
We must cherish the life we have, others are still praying for that.
