I often see this stall whenever I pass by the Woodlands MRT station but I never got to try it until now. To be honest, it's not interesting to look at because it just looks like plain bread from the outside. And then the name "Meat Pie" doesn't really make me crave for it.
However, because I don't know what I want to eat at this moment, I dare to try what this meat pie is.
I'm surprised because I find it good! The bread to filling ratio is perfect for me. The bread has a similar feel to a pancake but chewier. The bread was moist and had a subtle taste to it. What gave this food the most flavor is the filling. It's filled with pork and chives. The seasoning is just right for me. The chives are a little overpowering for my preference but I'm sure that it's acceptable for many.
The other flavor that I tried is the Pork with Scallions; I would say that it's my favorite between the two.
It's really fun to eat. I think that it's one of the most affordable good tasting food here in Singapore.
