It doesn’t matter how old people are. It matters if they love each other and have fun with each other.~unknown
It was another Saturday again and I went to do my usual Saturday activity — visiting my Aunt. I was abit late due to some cleaning at home, she called to ask to ensure everything was alright. ❤️
Then, I reached her house, helped her to do some online bills payment. She is still full of amazement when she noticed how fast online transaction is, she said she could never comprehend no matter how much I educated her.
My Lunch
So healthy.
So delicious.
Fragrant rice with a hint of cinnamon which initially I wasn't used to it, but grew to love it. That's the way she cooked the rice. She put two sticks of cinnamon because she said cinnamon has a lot of health benefits.
The Spread on Her Table
I told her that next time could just prepare one protein dish would be sufficient. But she said she preferred to have one chicken dish and one pork dish so that the boys got to choose what they liked. She also said she was very free, so she didn't mind to cook more. Awwww.... ♥️♥️♥️
1. Fried Omelette
She knew my eldest son love enoki mushroom so she did a enoki mushrooms omelette. I had not cooked in this way before and it was delicious. She chopped the enoki mushrooms to smaller pieces then fried together with the properly seasoned eggs. Wow!
2. Baked Chicken
For this dish, she prepared the sauce made of oyster sauce, soy sauce, chicken broth, some salt and pepper. She lightly browned the chicken in a pan first before she put them all into oven to bake, together with the cherry tomatoes and celery. After baked, she poured in the sauce and did some final bake again. Very flavourful and tasty.
3. Braised Potatoes with pork slices.
This is one her Hakka dish. First, she stirred fry some onions, garlic and ginger with sesame oil. Add in pork slices, followed by potatoes and stir fry. Added in water and sauces to braise until potatoes were soft. The boys love love love this dish.
This round, the boys did not come with me. The eldest was having coding class, the youngest still on partial liquid food so he preferred to stay at home. So again, my Aunt packed the food for them.
After I finished my lunch, she would get ready all the tiffin carriers and containers for packing the food.
Pack. Pack. Pack. So much love.
We chatted abit on buying properties since we mentioned earlier that I was busy cleaning after my brother shifted out. She told me her story how she worked hard to get this low-cost apartment. She is really a hardworking human. She used to work as a chef for expatriates, in three different household. And also part time babysitter. I salute her, honor her, love her, treasure her.
See you again next Saturday.
