Hoy quiero hablarles de una experiencia increíble que viví el día de ayer en la ciudad en la que vivo, Caracas.
Today I want to tell you about an incredible experience that I had yesterday in the city I currently live, Caracas.
El Ávila es sin duda uno de los parques nacionales más importantes en mi país, ya que no solo nos regala una hermosa vista en la ciudad, sino que protege a esta de cualquier posible tragedia marítima actuando como una especie de escudo debido a lo grande que es ya que tiene una altitud de unos 2200 m.s.n.m. Además, es un lugar muy popular y agradable para hacer excursionismo en Caracas.
El Ávila is without any doubts one of the most importants national parks in my country, as it give to us not only a beautiful view in the city but this protects it from any maritime tragedy acting as a kind of shield due to its high, which is about 2200 meters. Furthermore, this is a very popular and nice place to do hiking in Caracas.
Se puede subir al Ávila desde distintos puntos en la ciudad, yo ya había subido desde Altamira, pero esta vez subí por primera vez desde San Bernardino. Fue una caminata muy dura, pero agradable.
You can climb to Avila from different spots in the city, I had already gone from Altamira, but this time I climbed for the first time from San Bernardino. It was a very tough hike, but it was enjoyable.
La cruz del Ávila es una cruz enorme que se ve encendida en el Ávila desde la ciudad en épocas navideñas
La Cruz del Ávila is a huge cross that is seen lit in Ávila from the city at Christmas time
Esta cruz es relativamente la mitad del camino cuando la meta es el Hotel Humboldt. Ahí descansamos un rato.
This cross is relatively half the way when the goal is the Hotel Humboldt. There we rest for a while.
En el camino pudimos recargar un poco de agua potable que viene directamente del río.
Along the way we were able to recharge some drinking water that comes directly from the river.
Incluso vimos muy de cerca los vagones del teleférico que se dirigían a nuestra meta, solo que nosotros la alcanzaríamos caminando.
We even got a close look at the cable car of the cableway heading to our goal, but we would reach it walking.
¡Finalmente lo logramos! Fueron 3 horas y media (haciendo muchas paradas) para alcanzar nuestra meta, la Estación Ávila u Hotel Humboldt, la estación más alta del teleférico de Caracas.
Finally we did it! It was 3 and a half hours (making many stops) to reach our goal, Ávila Station or Humboldt Hotel, the highest station of Caracas cableway.
Por supuesto, estaba muy cansada y solo quería llegar a descansar un poco.
Of course, I was so tired I just wanted to take some rest.
Esta estación es un lugar sumamente turístico al cual la mayoría de las personas suben en el teleférico ya que no hay manera de subir en carro particular. Disfrutan del clima frío, toman chocolate caliente, fresas con crema, dulces típicos venezolanos o comen en alguno de los restaurantes, ya que hay mucho comercio allí. Incluso hay una pista de patinaje sobre hielo, y si quieres puedes pagar para que te lleven a un pueblo cercano en jeep.
This station is a tourist place in which most people take the cable car as there is no way to get on by private car. You can enjoy the cold weather, have hot chocolate, strawberries with cream, typical Venezuelan sweets or eat in one of the restaurants, since there is a lot of commerce there. There is even an ice skating rink, and if you want you can pay to be taken to a nearby town by jeep.
Disfrutamos un poco del lugar y luego bajamos a Caracas en teleférico.
We enjoyed the place for a while and then we returned back to Caracas by cable car.
Incluso vimos desde el teleférico el sitio en el que estuvimos parados antes.
We even saw from the cable car the place where we were standing before.
Pudimos disfrutar de una vista hermosa, y sin duda fue una experiencia increíble que me gustaría repetir. Y como siempre, gracias por llegar hasta aquí, ¡espero verlos en un siguiente post!
