Un saludo a todos los que me leen y siguen mis publicaciones. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una historia que aún teniendo varios años aprendiendo de la repostería no conocía, y me pareció muy interesante, pues ¿quien no ha comido torta en su cumpleaños?.
Según se dice, los griegos fueron los creadores de la torta de cumpleaños. En esa época cocinaban tortas redondas para representar a la luna llena colocándoles velas para simular el resplandor de la misma. Esto se realizaba para rendirle culto a su diosa Artemisa (diosa de la luna).
Por otra parte, los alemanes dicen ser ellos los creadores de la primera torta con velas. A una tarta dulce le colocaban una vela grande en el centro para representar “la luz de la vida”.
La realidad es que la costumbre de celebrar el aniversario de vida de la persona se realizó durante un breve tiempo en la antigua Grecia. Luego este evento resurgió entre los campesinos alemanes en la Edad Media con un nuevo tipo de celebración ofrecida específicamente a los niños y niñas. En cierto modo ese fue el comienzo de las fiestas infantiles de cumpleaños.

La variedad de formas, tamaños, colores y sabores en que se realizan las tortas ha evolucionado de forma impresionante, hay para todos los gustos, desde los que prefieren una "Torta Tradicional" hasta los que eligen los diseños mas extravagantes que marcan "Tendencia".
Con todo lo que estamos viviendo por la pandemia muchos han celebrado un #cumpleañosencuarentena, les ha tocado festejar de una manera distinta, extraña si se puede decir, pues lo cotidiano es pasar esta fecha rodeado de seres queridos.
Es la realidad que nos ha tocado vivir, y en medio de toda esta incertidumbre dar gracias a Dios por la vida (con o sin torta) es una de nuestras mayores satisfacciones.
El pasado viernes, a petición de mi hija, realicé está torta:
Mi sobrina cumplió cuatro años y como no pudimos estar presentes físicamente en su celebración, esta fue nuestra manera de festejarla y agradecer por un año mas de su feliz existencia. Demostrando así que cuando hay amor no hay distancia que impida estar presente en la vida de los que amamos.
