If you were someone like me who dislikes eating a lot of pepper in your meals and happened to be very hungry one night and were offered a food blessed with all the pepper in the world, which would you choose: sleep hungry or die by pepper?
This was a difficult option for me to make after a hectic day, having only the opportunity to eat in the morning, after a series of meetings and day's activities, I had to choose between eating this spicy lunch prepared by and sleeping hungry.
First and foremost, the dish was traditionally prepared as white rice and stew. The reason it looks like this, this kind of jollof look, is because I chose to sleep hungry and consume the food the next day. It was late at night when I opted to eat, about 11 p.m., and I couldn't be worrying myself out over cooking anything or eating something that could lead me to die in my sleep.
Olujay isn't a bad cook; he's more like me. We are somewhere in the middle since we are neither exceptionally good nor exceptionally bad. But, to be honest, I don't like going into the kitchen, but I don't have a choice since else, man would starve.
I slept hungrily the night before... It's something I'm used to, and I also opted not to eat last night since I don't want to wake up wondering about what to eat.
Two spoons can already be seen on my plate in the images above. Can you imagine Olujay stealing a spoon from my meal while I'm writing this article? He came over to steal some of my food. He ate over 90% of the food he cooked, while I ate nothing.
I'm hungry right now, especially since I didn't eat last night. If I order breakfast from my favourite cheap restaurant right now, will most likely want to join me to finish it... He refers to me as a foodie, yet he seems to forget that we share many features.
