Back again with another art request from Deviant Art. It was a custom request where the requester gave me a reference image for the character, outfit, pose, cushion, and chair. During the process they were also suggesting other details and changes as well.

Unlike my other blogs I will first show the reference images that was sent to me for the art request.

Expression
Aside from these, they requested for the pose to be holding a phone. They also requested the outfit to have laces for the undergarment similar to my Nakiri Alice fan art. An lastly, for the expression to be changed, especially the lips, to be the same as my Shinobu fan art.

Illustration Process
Sketches
I don't really know any of the reference images so I just sketched it the way I see it. They were also pretty detailed on their request so I can somehow clearly imagine what they want. The sketch's pretty rough and messy because I haven't drawn objects for a while and I kind of don't want to mess up the perspective so it won't look weird.
Line art
I don't usually draw a lot of lines with the hair but since I found out how to color it easily, I went and did lots of hair lines. It used to be a pain doing this before but this is what I would have actually done to bring more life to the hair.
Base Color
For the base color, I just did it based on the references. I did make some mistakes but then adjusted he colors later on to actually match the refs.
Shading
For this part, I did shadings on the creases to emphasize it's depth. I used two layers with both multiply mode so it has a dark and a darker shade. I also realized that I don't like the previous coloring I do with the hair so I just did some basic shading on the hair in this work.
Lighting
After the shading is the lighting. Similar to shades, I used two layers with add mode and add (glow) mode for the lighting. For the chair and cushion, they requested it to be more shiny (which explains the add(glow) mode) since the object material is leather.
Background
Lastly is the background wherein I just used a soft air brush and colored the four corners with red, yellow, green, and blue. This is the part where they requested for a change in the expression as well as the undergarment. It's not much of a hassle to changed so I fixed it based on what they want. It's also cool that they took their time to go through my past works for references.
