Hello there! Been awhile since I make a restaurant introduction. Partly due to, you know the pandemic lockdown? I guess you heard of it, if not, go to the hospital and start coughing, they'll definitely throw you into an army truck and lock you down for 14 days.
I'm gonna talk about one of my favorite restaurant called, Brussels Beer Cafe. You see, this restaurant name after CAFE, so under the minister declaration of movement control, it's operate as restaurant, so they can continue to business. If they're pub/bar/bistro, they should remain close. I'm lucky enough to go to lunch with my colleague. The environment still looks as good as it used to be, but the bar counter is closed.
Other than the a la carte menu, they have a special value meal menu, at RM13. The moment I saw it, I thought ok this is going to be really disappointing when I see the food. But hey, at this point of time, going to themed restaurant I should be expecting to close the bill at RM50 per head. So, seeing 13 bucks is a real turn head deal! So me and my colleague had the 13 bucks deal for real! I guess, even if it's small, we can always order another set!
I ordered my complement mushroom soup and lemon tea with no ice. I don't know how to comment on the lemon tea, it's just a lemon tea, so it's all good. However, the mushroom soup is not bad. Pretty thick, and if not carefully sip in, you could choke by diced mushroom. Taste pretty good! Will be nicer if they give a piece of bread to go with it.
Came my colleagues' sweet and sour chicken. I did not have a chance to touch that. I know, we're still practicing social distancing. So, food sharing is a big no no(dare not to say prohibited, but who is going to responsible if the unwanted happens?). But the way she describe really makes me worry if I order the right stuff.
My worry finally came forth. The first look at it, it doesn't really make me feel appetizing, however after I start cutting in, holy! The meat is so tender! There's a thick layer of fat, coupled with the cream sauce in mushroom slice, this is hell of a delicacy. The piece of meat is stacked on top of a dash of whipped potato, and that too is properly seasoned and tasted marvelously good.
Table service is good, but the service charge of 10% compulsory make the bill slightly more then expected, and not forgetting we're contributing extra 6% for the sales tax. Anyway, I guess that's not their fault. If there's anything fucked up with this experience, the tax is. And added all that up, it only cost about 15 bucks a head.
