Once upon a time there was some chocolate, it left Australia bound for Scotland on a journey of discovery and enlightenment and once there...got devoured by the Booms!
- G-dog -
Earlier this year commented on a post I'd made introducing a winery I'd visited in the renowned wine and vineyard region called Barossa Valley where I was raised. I'd bought some special limited edition bottles of wine and he thought it was pretty cool indicating he was
jealous envious, which gave me an idea - Send the old chap one of mine!
I took the opportunity to send over a few more items as well because, well because why not. If you want to read about it, do so here, and you'll also see the stuff I sent.
That was then, this is now
A few weeks ago I told Boomy I'll be sending another package with some chocolates for his family as a Christmas gift. Being the quality chap he is, he immediately told me he will pay for shipping, but I wasn't having it; I said no. It's a gift you see, and I'll not having him paying for his own gift to be sent.
What he doesn't know is that I'm going to dox him, release his address on this post, so the joke's on him. I'm not doing it maliciously; it's a friendly doxing, so that other folks can send him cool things for Christmas also. Look out later in the post for Boomy's residential address ok?
What am I sending
I decided to focus mainly on chocolates that are all made here in Australia and owned locally although I threw in some Cadbury's - a UK company - and Arnott's which used to be Australian owned but now it's parent company is KKR out of America.
The three companies I chose were Menz, Darrell Lea and premium chocolate company Haigh's. All do slightly different things and all are totally fucken legit! I'll admit that Haigh's is my favourite but due to cost I don't often have it. I'm also diabetic so chocolate isn't an every week thing for me.
From Haigh's there's some special gift-wrapped goodies for the adults, Boomy and his lovely wife Mrs. Boomy, and some other stuff for them and the kiddo-booms as well. The Menz and Darrell Lea stuff is an assortment of various things that may make Boomy fat, diabetic and then probably dead content, but I know he'll share it with the family so maybe he'll not die at all.
The Cadbury's and Arnott's stuff is something I sent last time but the Booms seemed to like it so I thought I'd send some more this time also. I didn't photograph them Boomy, but get ready for more Tim Tam's and the kids have some Furry Friends coming in hot!
And now for the doxing
I figure there's people around here that would also love to send Boomy some goodies or to knock on the door and say hello and, if that's you, then look below for his residential address and take the opportunity. If you intend to visit him make sure it's unannounced for that extra layer of surprise-factor. He'll love it!

Friendships
I wrote a post about friendships with a focus on Hive itself only a few days ago which you can see here if you're keen for a read. In it, I talk about what it takes to form relationships here on Hive and others have commented with their own thoughts. In truth, I'm not an expert on it and don't think there's a particular formula for it, although I have made many great relationships, let's call them friendships I guess, and I value them.
It's the value I find through those relationships that causes me to want to go a little out of my way for them and that takes various forms.
Sometimes it's an ear to listen on or off Hive, sometimes it's some fun comment-byplay on the blockchain, the transfer of some funds to them, curation support for posting and even standing up for them if they are attacked (or doxed like I did to Boomy in this post) by others. There's other things also, including sending things across the world as I've done several times, and has been done in return to me. That's behind Boomy's gift and it feels pretty damned good to do something like this for someone, a family, I respect and like and knowing they'll get a kick out of it makes me smile.
