Greeting Readers
Sorry for the late update. I was preparing for an interview yesterday, and I lost track of everything else I was supposed to be doing. But anyway, we are done with the Twins' part of the story, and we are continuing with Kay's story for a little while. I hope you all enjoy it!

Maxine took a deep breath, sighed heavily, then made her way to the boxes. She immediately picked up on the Saith and looked at Saita with a raised eyebrow.
“What can I say? I am well connected.” Chuckled the woman drily.
“What exactly do we have here?” asked Martin.
“Enough.” That was all Saita would say.

Saita stayed for several months. She had helped with the design and creation of the cabin where she would later meet her husband. It was very similar to the cabin she would inhabit with him toward the end of his life.
Saita couldn’t help but chuckle at how the short time that Bolx and Aidan had been in this time still left marks that would follow them for decades. Things she only learned of now.
She wanted to stay longer, but knew that there were other things that she needed to concentrate on. Namely, keeping her promise to Bolx to find and stay with Kaiden until the end.
However, the choice to leave was a tough one, and she couldn’t face either of the twins. She couldn’t help but feel like a coward, but knew that it was best. This is how it played out the first time, and she needed to stick to the script she was starting to understand.
She didn’t leave a letter. Instead, she left the one thing that Maxine, from Saita’s current timeline, had given her when she had eventually graced the group with her presence. Saita smiled at the small piece of material in the palm of her hand. It had been ripped from a fresh shirt, with no thought, except to be a message to a past self.
Saita placed the red square of material on the counter and left the cabin while the twins still slept. She had recovered enough to continue her travels, and she didn’t, no, couldn’t deal with tearful goodbyes.
She closed the door to the cabin behind her and made her way through the freshly falling snow to a clearing in the dying forest she had scouted earlier in the week. She was stronger now, had built up an understanding and endurance for what she needed to do. With a final glance at the cabin, she grinned and opened the veil.

True to her word, a few days later, after recovering, Kay set out into the forest to hunt the stag that she had seen. Mitis had insisted that she hold Gatex, and Kay had obliged while sitting on the edge of the bed.
“I called him Gatex.” Said Mitis, excited.
Kay nodded her head, smiling at the now clearly blonde child looking up at her. She felt Silens squeeze her shoulder. She took a deep breath before saying, “Gatex is a fitting name.”
All colour drained from Mitis’s face. She hadn’t expected Kay to finally speak to her after all these long months. Her accent was strange, but the language was spoken clearly. Her voice was gruffer than Mitis had expected, but there was a certain energy around it.
“You can talk!”
“Yeah.”
Mitis wasn’t sure about that word, but took it for an affirmative.
“Why now?”
Kay shrugged. “You’re my friend, and you had a baby, and you need support.”
Forgetting that Kay was holding her son, she threw her arms around Kay’s neck and hugged her.
“I’ll still not great with physical contact.” Grunted Kay, although she didn’t push Mitis from her.
Mitis released her with a blush rising in her cheeks. Through Kay’s thin shirt, she had felt a collection of scars that were strange to her. Scars that didn’t make sense. She had so many questions and was about to start with her tirade when Kay handed back her baby.
“I don’t have any friends, so don’t expect much.” Kay then walked from the room.
“Did I upset her?” Mitis asked Silens.
“I don’t think Kay knows how to get upset. No, she has plans for the day. She saw a white deer on the day your son was born, and she intends to hunt it. Something about a white baby blanket.”
“Her voice was enough. She doesn’t need to…”
The sound of a door closing echoed in the house, and Silens smiled.
“Oh, let her. I haven’t seen her this happy.”
“Since when?”
“Ever.”

And we will continue from here with Kay for some time before we jump back to Shareik and Saita. Enjoy!
