So usually when I travel I always go for something affordable like a Backpackers/Travellers Hostel and they cost anywhere between Rs 299 - Rs 599 (4 - 8 $ ) across India and you have various properties like this across India.
So far Zostel Properties have been my favourite because of the environment and the amount of comfort you get is unmatched plus it's super hygienic as well. In most of these properties if you travel during the travel season you’ll find a good bunch of lively foreigners.
The rooms are basically dormitories where you’ll be sharing a room with 4 people or 10 and it's a mixed dormitory with bunk beds. So my go to for years has always been Zostel.
But this time I thought why not try something new, So I decided to stay at a property called Gypsy Monkey which I had booked through booking.com
The property is also called Hotel Ramshingh, The lobby does give the feel of a Traveller Hostel as there are colourful wall paintings almost in all places around the property, It has dim lighting in the night so I couldn’t get a great view of the place. After checking into my room I figured out the place was slightly dusty and I immediately panicked because I have severe dust allergies and I didn’t want to have a bad reaction so I just gave a quick dust over my area.
I was not happy with the bed because Zostel offers an even more comfortable one, This bed was pretty okayish and the blanket keeps you warm at night so I adjusted and it didn’t really turn out to be much of an issue to me.
So the next morning I decided to explore the place a bit and familiarise myself with it.
You have a basement parking available here and above that you have a pretty nice lobby which is open around the clock as per it's advertisement. the first floor you have a nice smoking lounge with a seating area and the 2nd to 3rd floor consists of the dormitories and the private rooms.
On the fourth floor you have a restaurant which is just beautiful during the day and it's also quite dusty 😂 but i'll over look that because it's an open area and you can’t really help it. This is a two floor restaurant which overlooks a part of the city, it's not a great view but it's enjoyable. There's also a small pool on the top which is operational during the Summer so currently it's winter here so the pools closed off, but the pool area is pretty chill.
This floor has to be my favourite because of it’s Rajput architecture structural design they have for the seating space. This area isn’t that lit up during the night so it's better to enjoy the atmosphere during the day or best during sunset because it's just beautiful.
The menu here is quite alright and I just keep having their Cheese Maggi, Bread Pakoda With Cheese (I Ask Them To Add Cheese 😂), Paneer Pakoda (They Said They Cant Add Cheese 🤣), Black Tea, Grilled Cheese Sandwich. This is pretty much the only thing i've tried here because I know you can’t really screw this up 🙈 Also smoking is allowed here and it's just a bliss to take a load off here on the terrace.

The overall service of this place is quite good and the staffs are courteous as well. Since I was travelling during the off season, I ended up being the only occupant in the entire place for a few day which also mean I get the entire room to myself 😂 Some guests visited the place a few days later but were only there for a day or two.
This place offers a limited connection free Wi-Fi which is decent to get your work done.
My upcoming posts will include quick guides on what to do when in Jaipur, Rajasthan and a few tips to get around the place so Stay Tuned ❤️
