I've always had the goal of making my food presentation look artistic. I learned from a lot of Youtube, Instagram, and Pinterest, about plating ideas.
My challenge so far is the limited tools and ingredients for food. I didn't give up on that. Instead, I feel challenged and have to get used to thinking creatively about it.
I am happy to proceed. I enjoy my time with my processes in the kitchen.
I consider white plates as a canvas to me, and various sauces are the coloring.
This time I will tell you about my experience of failing with plating. I'm excited to be able to try something new to see what the results will be.
Playing with Dragon Fruit Sauce
I tried plating with dragon fruit sauce. I applied it with an irregularly scattered dotted shape.
At first, it looked good. Not too bad. But then I thought about changing the shape.
I move the plate so that the dragon fruit sauce dots appear to be deformed and melted.
The final result
I feel that the result is not as good as the first try. The result is too weird in my opinion.
But I need another opinion to judge my work. It feels good to be able to play in the world of the art of plating even though I'm still an amateur.
Look at the sauce motif I use for the plating of this dessert. I know the color looks bad because I used the same colored sauce as the dessert.
What do you think about my plating this time? I appreciate your thought!
