Interesting times: Steem may have changed completely from how we know it by 25 April, on the other hand, it could be perfect timing for moving forward.
This year's SteemCampUK is sponsored by The Institute of Applied Economics and Social Value at De Montfort University. There is no fee to attend to this year, as we have a free venue and no other expenses.
Book your place at SteemCampUK at Eventbrite

Full news of developments on Steem are available through the Steem News published each day by . This one published 4 March 2020 sets out the context and state of play at the time this post was published.
There are some interesting lessons from this messy situation. I commented earlier on 's post "Sun's Folly" will be taught in future blockchain business schools:
For me, there are two stand out takeaways:
incomplete due diligence and/or information was requested but not provided. The latter seems to be the case from the Tron/Consensus Witness meeting.
the behaviour of the exchanges involved, appropriating customer funds for another use.
Good to see that both of these are not my circus, not my monkeys:
the first is for or Tron to take up with the previous owner.
the second is or the exchanges to deal with. I hope their customers are kicking up a storm ... and any regulatory bodies that might have an interest.
Meanwhile, for the Steem Community:
have we got control of the narrative?
and what is the narrative? Is it: we want to work with you, there are benefits for both parties, let's start talking about how it can be and negotiate a way forward within the consensus governance of the blockchain.
I didn't know the restriction on the ninja-mined stake was already in the code but not switched on. I missed that bit in the story. As always, there are alternative views about the stake and how it was managed.
The Tron/consensus witness meeting that took place early UK time today was a step forward to clarifying some fundamentals and starting the process of moving forward. There's a further Town Hall meeting between Tron and consensus witnesses planned for Friday 6 March.
Exciting times with a lot to learn.
Hope to see as many of you as can make it to SteemCampUK. There's currently just over 100 active Steemians in the UK, would be great to get everyone together. Friends from Europe are also welcome.
De Montfort University is hosting a complementary event in the afternoon on Friday 24 April. I will post details when I have them.
Tagging UK Steemians for information. Please feel free to tag anyone I've missed in the comments.
