While the Mister did his long run early I had a much needed sleep in. I've been trying to get much more intentional with sleep in the latter part of this year and see if I can use an alarm clock less often. Since I run my own business and can choose my own hours, it seems stupid to wake up to an alarm if it's not necessary.
Why would I pull my body out of its sleeping state when it's clearly done yet?
Habit? A sense of a "should" or "must" get up and "be productive"? It's probably both. That, and, I don't want my favourite part of the day (first light) to disappear.
Anyway, I digress. My alarm has been waking me up all week, so clearly I wasn't getting enough sleep (even though it was more than 8 hours; I think I need more than most people!). So this morning I slept in 'til 6 something and finally rolled out of bed at 6:30 am, finally feeling awake enough to drink, eat and be merry? Well, communicate with another human is more like it.
So, once I was a bit MORE awake, watered and fed, we jumped in the car and headed to visit a new destination: Mount French. There are two short walks there; one goes out to a nice lookout ("Logan Lookout") and the other is a loop through tea tree scrub and heaps of grass trees.
It was great to go somewhere new, still a driveable distance from home for a half day adventure, leaving us time to potter around the house and write posts on Hive ;)
I just finished a 2.04km walking that lasted about 0hh:43mm:26ss !
