The 4:15 am alarm woke me. Mister was already awake.
I drank some water. We prep'd our food. I made the bed.
We packed the car. I eventually got dressed. And off we went.
We headed north. Our destination was Mudjimba Beach on the Sunshine Coast.
The aim was to do a new parkrun we'd never done before.
We'd checked the weather in the days leading up to this morning.
We were somewhat surprised by the three rain showers we drove through.
Thankfully, the rain had cleared before we arrived at the beach.
But without the rain it was hot. And humid. And sticky!
There would be no parkrun pb's today.
But we both ran well. We both ran fast considering the heat.
And we saw people we knew! They were from a parkrun back home.
They were avid tourists like us, making their way through as many parkruns as possible.
With our runs done we headed to the beach.
It was a delight to get into the salt, into the sun, into the water.
I think, once we have done all the parkruns in South East Queensland
(we are almost done!)
that we might end up doing a whole lot of beach repeats;
prioritising parkruns with a beach nearby!
We said our goodbyes.
We headed to a nearby market.
And then we headed home to do home-type things.
It was a good morning. In fact, it was a good day.

The details captured by my watch. (Screenshot of Garmin App). Meanwhile, official parkrun stats were: 44th finisher, 7th female, on my 157th parkrun with a time of 25:07.
I just finished a 5.0km running that lasted about 0hh:25mm:7ss !
