With all the COVID scare going on and the climate change, it is imperative that we take care of our body and be safe than sorry.
I do know that in spite of being careful, there could be infections but even if we are infected, we can still use our food as medicine.
That is why I took photos of what I made and thought of sharing it with all of you.
Ingredients
One tomato - sliced
Black pepper, cumin seeds, garlic
Turmeric powder
A spoon or two of turmeric paste
Cooked tuvar dal
Water
Salt
Mustard seeds and red chili, a spoon of oil, for seasoning - optional
Method
Cook the tuvar dal in a pressure cooker or pan after adding a pinch of turmeric powder. Set aside.
In a utensil, add water, turmeric powder, salt, tamarind paste, sliced tomatoes, and set to boil. Crush garlic, black pepper, cumin seeds and add to this soup.
Let it boil for a few minutes. Make sure the tomato cooks well. You can add other veggies too if you like.
Switch off and add seasoning and garnish with mint or coriander leaves.
This is a dish that you can drink as such or have with rice.
Make sure you add the black pepper and garlic.
I sure hope no one gets infected again and the recovery rate is also welcoming. We have to learn to live with changes and let us hope that these homemade remedies helps us.
