Have a great day, dear friends! How are you all?
Day by day, time flies by quickly, especially when spent happily with friends. Today is Sunday, and I have a delicious new dish to add to our tea time menu. This is a traditional Sri Lankan dish, but due to people's busy schedules, it is not commonly prepared anymore. Interestingly, this dish is also popular in Malaysia.
In Sri Lanka, it is called Sinakku. Some people use baking powder, soda to prepare it, but I wanted to keep it natural and didn't use any. Sinakku is a delicious dish that can be prepared very easily. Let's see how to make it.
Materials Used.
Rice flour 100g.
1 Tablespoon of wheat flour.
1/4 Teaspoon of salt powder.
Grated jaggery 75g.
Water 100ml.
Coconut milk 150ml.
Some grated coconut.
The cooking process as follows.
First we put the grated jaggery in a bowl and then add some coconut milk to it. Mix the coconut milk and jaggery well. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to it. Mix it too and keep aside.
Now let's collect the flour in a bowl again. Add a tablespoon of wheat flour to it. Now add water little by little and mix well.
Now put the pot again on the stove and leave it to get hot and add the melted jaggery mixture to it. After the jaggery has dissolved well, add the rice flour mixture to it. Mix it continuously for two minutes and remove it from the stove.
Next, transfer it to another cup as soon as it is removed from the heat. After that, you need to steam the Sinakku to prepare them. To do this, apply a thin layer of coconut oil to the cup that will be used for steaming. Then, add the mixture we removed from the stove into the cup and steam it.
Boil it in the steamer for about 20 minutes. Next, leave it to cool for about 20 minutes. Take it out with the help of the tip of the knife and decorate it with coconut.
This unique recipe can be enjoyed with coconut for a different taste. It is very tasty and nutritious—a delicious dish that can be prepared occasionally and enjoyed at tea time. I hope you enjoy preparing it this way too. It's a treat for everyone, both young and old.
