Have a great day, my dear friends!🤗 I hope you are all doing well. As Christmas approaches, we're gearing up to welcome guests in the best possible way. I've decided to prepare a fitting and delicious snack for the festive season – the honey mukulu. It's worth noting that this sweet treat is unique to Sri Lanka, particularly famous in the southern province. I'm excited to share this preparation with you.
Materials Used.
200g of Grated coconut
250g Wheat flour
150g of Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon of Salt.
350ml Coconut oil
The cooking process as follows.
First we need to put the scraped coconut in a bowl. Now squeeze the coconut in the bowl by hand. When using coconuts, be careful to choose coconuts that have a milky texture when squeezed by hand.
Now we add wheat flour and salt to it and mix well.
Finally add sugar to it and mix. Please note that after adding the sugar, do not mix for a long time. Because if the sugar melts quickly, it will be difficult to shape the "mukulu".
Now before the sugar melts quickly take the mixture little by little and make small balls. Next take the balls made and make two slices from both sides. Make two similar slices on the other sides as well. This has 6 slices. It is as in the following images.
Now we have to fix this. For that, put a pot on the stove and add coconut oil and after it gets hot, fry it until golden brown and let the oil escape.
In fact, this is a type of sweet that can be prepared quickly with less ingredients. A crispy sweet dish that can be enjoyed by guests at tea time. I hope you will enjoy making this too. Hope to prepare another delicious one in the future.
Thank You.
