May tomorrow be a happy day for you.Four days starting today means a few days of holidays for us Sri Lankans. So these are four days when my family members stay at home most of the time. I thought I could make a delicious food to make them happy. A food that I enjoyed during my school life and really quenched our hunger. That's why I like vegetable roti as a snack. I feel like eating. We are just addicted to that taste. So I thought I should give it a try. So let's see how to make delicious vegetable rotis.
Ingredients;
- One and half cups of bread flour
- Three and half tablespoons of oil
- 140ml of lukewarm water
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Half teaspoon of pepper powder
- Half teaspoon of cumin powder
- Half teaspoon of chilli powder
- A teaspoon of chilli pieces
- One and half teaspoons of salt powder
- Two medium sized potatoes boiled
- A large b onion into small pieces
- A few finely chopped curry leaves
- Green chilli pods cut into small pieces
- Two cloves cut into small pieces
** Chopped leeks
The method of making;
First of all, add flour to the bowl and add half a teaspoon of salt powder to it and stir.
Prepare the flour by adding warm water little by little.
Knead well for about two minutes and add one tablespoon of coconut oil to this flour mill and keep it closed for about five minutes.
Mash the boiled potatoes into small pieces.
Now let's make the filling. For that, add chopped garlic and curry powder to the pan with two tablespoons of coconut oil and stir for about a minute on low heat.
Now add chopped onions with chopped green chillies.
Then add turmeric powder and cumin powder.
After that add chilli powder with chilli pieces and stir well.
Add mashed potatoes and add pepper powder and remaining salt powder to it and stir.
Now add the chopped leek pieces and transfer to another bowl to cool.
Now spread some coconut oil on a plate.
The dough should be smooth and pliable.
Divide into five fairly average-sized balls.
Spread a little more oil on the thinning disc and thin each ball well.
Keep one and a half tablespoon of the prepared filling and fold it into a triangle shape as shown in the picture.
In a pan greased with oil, bake this roti well on low flame. All sides should be bake very well.
Not only as a very tasty snack, you can prepare this vegetable roti for breakfast, dinner and a different meal. Actually this is called our bakery product and it is a snack that I enjoyed a lot during my school days. It can be called a food that fills our hunger. So my dear friends try it.
