Hello, beer lovers! π»
How are you doing? If you've been treating yourself to a beer after a hard day, a hard week, and of course at some monthly party, you're probably doing very well. π
It's been pretty cold here this week, but at the end of the week, everything thawed out, temperatures are above zero, and beer is flowing again :)
I have two Slovenian bottles in front of me, which I will now open and happily share my beer experience with you for 447 #beersaturday.
First, the one with less alcohol.
Hopsbrew Salt Breeze Pale Ale
Brewed by Pivovarna Hopsbrew, Dobrunje, Slovenia.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV, IBU 20. Pale Ale style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Salt Breeze is a beer with a rich aroma of bergamot and a hint of sea salt. It refreshes and offers a unique taste!
I've never seen bergamot before, only in pictures, let alone tasted it, so it will be interesting.
The beer is light and bright yellow. It has a lot of foam, but it disappears quickly. It has a slight citrus aroma, probably bergamot, which is a little different from other citrus fruits.
It goes down smoothly, and I can taste a slight bitterness of hops, citrus, herbs, and maybe a hint of saltiness.
The aftertaste disappears quickly.
Drinkable, light, and refreshing! I believe it would be perfect for drinking on the beach, after sports, or exercise. It's winter here now, but it's still good! It's not classic in the sense of a hop bomb, but more refreshing and experimental, with all the characteristics of a good beer :)
I haven't seen it in local stores (yet), but I bought it at Megamarket Spar in Koper. It's not cheap, though, at β¬3.20. When the hot summer comes, I'll definitely treat myself to another one.
BERGKΓNIG Ironik IPA
Brewed by Tektonik, Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the Hofer brand BergkΓΆnig.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.8% ABV, IBU 50. IPA style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Based on the choice of malt, one might think that we are talking about a lager, but dip your tongue in the solution and it quickly becomes clear that this is a real IPA. The bright straw-colored body is covered with a medium-rich white head. The aroma is fruity, with tropical fruit and citrus notes dominating. The taste follows the aroma, but leans a little more towards stone fruit, with some hints of conifer resin in the background. The bitterness is moderately pronounced and pleasant. If it weren't good, it would be funny.
I tasted this beer about three years ago. But since it's still in production, I'll try it again, also because the master brewers have changed the recipe :)
I liked it back then, and I hope it will be just as good now (after trying hundreds of other beers π΅βπ«). We'll see :)
The beer is yellow, slightly cloudy, and has little foam. It smells of tropical fruits. It goes down smoothly, and I can taste a solid bitterness of hops and citrus, perhaps even herbs.
The distinct bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for some time.
A refreshing and thirst-quenching beer! I can only quote myself (a few years ago):
Smells like an IPA, bitter like an IPA, citrus fruit aromas like an IPA, in short, a classic IPA.
πΊ
It's available at local Hofer stores for β¬1.99, so I will be sure to keep some in my refrigerator.
And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes. Classic space rock with psychedelic tones.
Thank you for your attention.
