Two months ago when I decided to improve myself little by little.
I started going to the gym.
Now, I can finally say that those small steps are starting to show results.
Did I flex it well? 😅
Just ignore the shirt I was wearing as it wasn't mine. 🤣
It's my wife's shirt... With her name printed on it.
Somehow, it made the flex look better. HAHA
Maybe it's because the shirt fits tighter on me.
Anyway, it shows how much my body has changed after two months of working out.
Well, I might do it properly next time.
I only go to the gym twice a week, and each session usually lasts about an hour.
Some people train almost every day, but for me, this schedule works.
It's realistic and easier to maintain.
My focus right now is mainly on upper-body workouts.
And my favorites are when I train my chest and triceps.
I usually start light. My warm-up set begins with 10 pounds, just to prepare my muscles for work.
After warming up, I gradually increased the weight.
Right now, my maximum load is around 60 pounds.
It's not huge, but for me, it's progress.
Two months ago, lifting this weight would have been much harder.
For each exercise, I do 5 sets, and 8-12 repetitions.
This range works well for building strength and muscle.
The last few reps are always the toughest, but those are the ones that count the most.
Of course, food plays a big role too.
Since I'm trying to build muscle, I make sure to eat protein whenever possible.
One of my favorite simple protein sources is something very common here in the Philippines.
It's taho.
There's a vendor near us selling taho for only 10 pesos/$0.17 per cup, and I often buy it.
It's affordable and good for protein.
Another thing I always look for on our menu is chicken, especially chicken breast.
It's one of the best protein sources for muscle building.
After two months of consistency, my upper body feels stronger, and my chest and arms look more defined.
For me, progress is the biggest achievement, and it comes simply from doing the same good habits over and over again.
And for now, that means showing up to the gym and continuing the journey.
This is only month two, and there's still a long road ahead.
I hope you'll join me again next time.
