Milk jelly is a simple drink I wanted to make using jelly in various colors, combined in a single glass and stirred with milk. Its refreshing appearance makes it a delicious treat to enjoy while relaxing.
I found this drink recipe online; it’s actually been around for a long time, but this is the first time I’ve taken the time to write it down.
Well, in my opinion, this drink was actually a failure—the jelly colors changed when stirred. Ahh, that really disappointed me; the final result was truly unexpected. I thought this was a failure due to choosing the wrong jelly powder. So when I stirred the colored jelly mixture, everything changed, and the drink’s color turned into a coffee-with-milk hue. But since I was already disappointed, I let it sit longer—the colors ended up blending together. Yeah, that’s how the result in the picture came about. At first, I was hesitant to share this recipe, but since this is my experience, I still intend to share it with you. Maybe another time I’ll try making it again with a different kind of jelly.
Ingredients
1 packet of jelly powder
Food coloring as needed
3 dates
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
500 ml milk
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions
Combine the jelly powder and granulated sugar in a pot, then add water, stir, and cook until done.
Once cooked, transfer to a bowl and mix in the desired food coloring.
Chop the dates into small pieces, then grate the jelly until it’s all done.
Mix all the ingredients together, then add the milk and let it sit until well combined. And don’t forget to add ice cubes when serving.
Result
Ta-da… my milk jelly ice drink is ready. Even though it’s not as colorful as I hoped, the taste is just right for my palate. It’s sweet, and the jelly has a great texture when you bite into it. You should know that the taste doesn’t change at all even though the jelly’s color has changed. However, the taste is still perfect because we used jelly that didn’t quite match—I think that’s why the color changed. Ahh, this is quite disappointing, but the result is still delicious. Actually, the color would have been vibrant with a beautiful milk combination and would definitely be very appealing.
So, for those of you who want to make this drink, it’s best to use unflavored jelly or pre-colored flavored jelly so the result looks more beautiful when all the ingredients are combined.
