Saturday night I slept under my friends' house in Chiusa Valmalenco.
Yesterday morning I got up before dawn and went to Santa Cristina, a town near Ortisei. Driving around with my Van I discovered a wonderful place, where it is possible to park the camper to spend the night in the middle of nature. I even managed to see - for the first time in my life - a woodpecker at work to get food inside a fir tree trunk.
Unfortunately I couldn't photograph it because I didn't have my camera with a telephoto lens ...
Later I met a very dear friend who works in Ortisei and we went to Selva for breakfast (you can see the photo on the cover).
In the late morning I went back to my friends in Chiusa. We spent a couple of hours in very pleasant company, drinking coffee and smoking a pipe (with excellent tobaccos bought in Germany) and had long chats.
So I left for Livigno, where I arrived in the early afternoon and walked the length and breadth of the crowded streets of the center, which are a concentration of food shops with Valtellina specialties, sportswear, casual clothing, perfumeries, jewelers, tobacconists, opticians and electronic devices of all kinds!
On the advice of the shop assistant Photo Gino I reached a very quiet place in the middle of a wood where I spent the night.
The outside temperature has dropped to -8.5 degrees ... lucky that I have a good heating in Van?

Sabato notte ho dormito sotto casa di miei amici a Chiusa Valmalenco.
Ieri mattina mi sono alzato prima dell'alba e sono andato a Santa Cristina, un paese vicino a Ortisei. Girando con il mio Van ho scoperto un luogo meraviglioso, dove è possibile Parcheggiare il camper per trascorrere la notte in mezzo alla natura. Addirittura sono riuscito a vedere - per la prima volta in vita mia - un picchio al lavoro per procacciarsi il cibo all'interno di un tronco di un Abete.
Purtroppo non ho potuto fotografarlo perché non avevo la mia macchina fotografica con il teleobiettivo...
Più tardi Ho incontrato un carissimo amico che lavora a Ortisei e siamo andati a Selva a fare colazione (di cui potete vedere la foto in copertina).
In tarda mattinata sono tornato a Chiusa dai miei amici. Abbiamo trascorso un paio d'ore in piacevolissima compagnia, bevendo caffè e fumando la pipa (con ottimi tabacchi acquistati in Germania) e fatto lunghe chiacchierate.
Quindi sono partito con destinazione Livigno, dove sono arrivato nel primo pomeriggio e ho passeggiato in lungo e in largo per le affollate vie del centro, che sono un concentrato di negozi di alimentari con specialità valtellinesi, abbigliamento sportivo, abbigliamento casual, profumerie, gioiellerie, tabaccherie, ottici e di apparecchi elettronici di ogni genere!
Su consiglio del commesso del negozio Foto Gino ho raggiunto un tranquillissimo posto in mezzo a un bosco dove ho trascorso la notte.
La temperatura esterna è scesa fino a -8,5 gradi... fortuna che ho un buon riscaldamento in Van?
