A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
The blue dominates the day of Thursday, May 4, 2023, date that will remain indelibly carved in the warm and leathery heart of the Neapolitans as the culmination of the rebirth of the Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli.
Heaven helps the bold Neapolitans by freeing the landscape from smog and humidity and giving sharp shots for what promises to be a long festival of popular colors.
The plants begin to bloom because they bet on a rise in temperatures and for the renewed return to the fertility conditions of the earth.
But you have to prepare yourself with a succulent lunch full of energy because there are long walks in the midst of celebrating crowds. The party is in the air also because in tonight’s match both teams are fine a draw to achieve their goals or the title of Italian champion for Naples and the mathematical salvation for the Udinese hostess.
But the day is long and the evening is far so I tricked the time going to help a friend of mine with the computer and his printer that he struggled to configure and to show him how to improve the wireless connection in his intricate home that is not ideal for a network without wires.
Around 19:30 I leave Caracciolo seaside destination to participate in the celebrations of the upcoming title and, to my surprise, I easily arrive in Via Toledo by public transport that were not crowded and were very punctual. In the picture there is the shot to the hole in the ceiling of Metro 1 where you can see some jokers who were looking from above in the porthole.
Out at the entrance of the Spanish neighborhoods I am greeted by the festive noise of the trumpets while from everywhere there are tremendous explosions of firecrackers shaking the air in a mix of scary holiday vibes.
Via Toledo is a blue river of celebrating fans that overwhelm you and drag you to Piazza del Plebiscito illuminated by the social colors of the football team that represents the city and is the impressive image of the basilica of San Francesco da Paola light blue.
A large group of fans organized themselves in a hellish brawl in front of the Royal Palace and staged a propitiatory dance in the smoke of the Bengal in front while I advance my pace because the start of the match at 20:45 is imminent.
Also the Moon wants to participate in the party and stages an enchanting show on the Gulf of Naples. His record is huge tonight and the sky conditions favor the celestial star’s show making it appear much brighter than usual.
Another characteristic monument of Naples, the Castel dell'Ovo, gigantic in the middle of the colorful sea also him to party in front of the Bar that is my coveted goal and from where I will also attend the meeting outside Naples.
But no one noticed that Napoli played outside the stadium because in the stands the majority of fans were clearly Neapolitan and the blue waved in every corner of the stadium even if there was a large presence of fans of the local team or Udinese.
Napoli seemed to have immediately the control of the situation and already after ten minutes had collected a fair number of occasions but at the minute 13' the frost falls on the Gulf of Naples.
In fact, the ball hit the feet of a Udinese player and, at the first shot on goal, Udinese took the lead: Udinese 1 - Napoli 0.
At the interval the city takes on a ghostly tone and no one wants to talk, the Neapolitan team dominates, but is blocked by the emotion of the huge responsibility that makes the feet of the players tremble making them unclean in the final stages of the action.
It starts again after a furious grooming the athletes by the coach and returning to the field you see that the players have taken quite a different mentality and at the first opportunity after 7 minutes from the start of the second comes the goal that frees the joy of the supporters of the Naples in a scream that shakes even the numerous seismographs present in the volcanic province.
The acrid smell of smoke bombs fills the air in the rest of the second half and the game slips away without any emotion as the players sleep the game even if throughout the season they had never administered always going on the attack and preferring the show to the calculations of the result.
At the end of time the promenade becomes an infernal bulge while fireworks that make pale the New Year’s celebrations illuminate the Gulf of Naples and the Neapolitan hills while dancing and bottles of sparkling wine are opened in profusion.
And speaking of celebrations, here I am celebrating the #iamalivechallenge 339 in front of the #alive celebrations for the fateful third Scudetto that came after a triumphant championship won five days in advance.
The air in the pedestrian area of the liberated promenade has become unbreathable and I leave it behind starting the pilgrimage to Piazza del Plebiscito.
Since the streets are now impassable I have to make the longest tour and I discover that Piazza della Vittoria is the only one where there is no chaos and I take advantage to slip into Via Chiaia so I will arrive directly in the festivities and the choice of reveals apt.
Despite the large influx of people on the way along Via Chiaia you walk fluently also because arrived at the bottom you understand that all of Naples is in Piazza Trieste and Trento.
As usual, the Fountain of the Artichoke is stormed by the festivities despite the vain attempts of the authorities to keep it sheltered.
And it’s time I set out on my way home. The chaos has taken over and public transport is completely blocked I will have to walk back on foot but the show of the city will accompany me throughout the journey.
As I return there begins to arrive a substantial influx of fans who continue to arrive in waves in the central square of the festivities while car carousels feel despite the total traffic ban in the area.
The only island of peace is the fountain of Neptune in front of the town hall recently restored and protected by an army troops in riot gear.
Piazza Borsa is the limit of the pedestrian zone set up by the authorities and is also the end of the demilitarized zone of peace.
In fact Corso Umberto is besieged by parades organized or not organized by fans and a huge influx puts at risk the measures taken by the authorities.
And for me it ends here the participation in the celebrations of the Neapolitan people now I have to cross all the suburbs degraded on foot but in the company of many other people in this evening of jubilation but the party has just begun and will last a month.
Finally I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of #Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next #actifit report.
