Holy cow!, did we sleep in this morning. We ridiculously stayed up beyond our normal night owl hours, and it showed on the back end of this morning. Nothing like sleeping half the day away 😳 I really prefer morning to late night but it just doesn’t seem to work that way anymore.
So after that late start to the day, we did manage to get a normal hike time started. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day. There is lots of new growth in the forest.
These are newborn Vine Maple leaves; so small and delicate.
Actifit-Lamb really enjoyed this weeping type moss covered rock and spent part of our photo break just basking in nature. She says she loves to stop now and again and just take it all in!
I’ve been watching this Trillium as it matures and it’s flower has changed from brilliant while to a beautiful purple color. This year there seems to be so many more of them than I’ve seen in the previous 5 years that we’ve been hiking these trails. Conditions must apparently be just right for them this year.
There too, is an abundance of Giant Snake Grass like these.
I took lots of photos today-too many to share all at once but you will see them soon.
